It all started when a ragtag band of vitality knights decided to pick up what Trident had started and where it left off. Led by the enigmatic xCa|iv3r, he and his merry men plucked a name out of nowhere, a name that has no meaning whatsoever, but would soon later reverberate across the four corners of Midgard......
REMARQUE The magical realm of Britoniah barred adventurers from saving memo points which deterred most of Midgard from the mystical land. But this was no problem for the chicken-horsed knights of Remarque. Shadow Circle's plan of conquering Geffen under one banner couldn't come into fruition, as the White Crusaders waged a Holy War. Remarque made it hard, no, impossible, for Britoniah to be covered in the shadows.
It had nothing to do with politics, it just happened that Remarque chose Geffen as their hometown, and enjoyed the challenge the dominant Shadow Circle gave them. Not to mention they love being raped by the Green Gang.
Shadow Circle's new alliance GSIS/TGISS hounded Remarque with a fierce determination, forcing the usually lone White Crusaders to accept the Brotherhood's invitation.
The great Faction Wars of 2005 cemented Remarque's reputation of being the best cavalry in the whole Midgard. They were the ones who consistently intercepted Ascension's multiplier in Britoniah, denying the enemy of x10 while securing an agit for the Brotherhood. Who could also forget the much awaited break of Bayabas' agit in Payon, with Remarque dealing the first blow.
After a successful but tiring campaign, Remarque's attendance dwindled for many reasons both in-game and iRL (eg. bots, work, school). With these into consideration, and other factors not entirely related to RO (eg. friendship), the Tall Man accepted the invitation to merge with Nihil Metus, and later Bisdak. Thus the powerhouse guild RNB was born.
The four lands of Midgard trembled under RNB's rampage led by the knights of Remarque, where one castle after the other, in full defense, fell to the merciless assault totaling a record-breaking seven casualties from Ascension in under two hours.
After the merge, Remarque became unstable because of their leader's absence. Most members didn't siege anymore because they ran out of reasons to. With the big power the faction has, the knights of Remarque felt empty sucesses sinced they were used to being challenged by "impregnable" defenses. Guild morale was at its lowest without xCa|iv3r leading the way. This caused R to split from RNB.
A good guildmaster cannot stand seeing his faithful companions in a state of disarray, so the enigmatic Tall Man came back and rebuilt the guild from scratch. His charisma didn't fail him as old members answered his call for another uprising. Remarque's plans remained the same, to uphold honor in their guild through the use of sheer strength.
"In xCa|iv3r, we trust." With renewed vigor and high morale, Remarque shocked even itself when it posted a career high of 52/56 when it comes to attendance. No castle was safe as defenses were easily overran, no matter how many their enemies were, the stampede of White Knights swarmed the Emperium.
They were one of the, if not the only, guilds that didn't need to rely on spellcasters to defend an agit successfully. As I recall in one of my commentaries, they employed what I call a Peco Peco Wall defense. Remarque's ability to conquer agits fair and square combining old school and new school tactics earned the respect of many which led to other people willing to join their White Crusades.
Coincidentally, the Main acknowledged the fact that they cannot compete with other guilds with such meager numbers, even if they were all disciplined and strong. Uckapangyarihan, a former Trident member, approached xCa|iv3r and asked if he and his guildmates from Archdiocese could join Remarque. Leijohn took the mantle of leadership for the new extension and added more Peco Pecos to the stable.
Not soon after, former Revenge members led by Patrick also asked to be part of Remarque. The two guilds clashed in Danau Greenwood where they have earned respect for each other as warriors. Leijohn's recommendation also helped in the swift approval for the new extension. Remarque's defensive line up was beefed up as Revenge's members were composed mainly of wizards. It was also at this time that the guild had an assigned warper, whereas before they settled to just riding their chickens to get to the castles.
The guild would only just get bigger as former members of Judgment, after finally resting the Blue Juggernaut, joined under Prankz. As if things weren't enough, former Revelations members under Z-Concept also became part of Remarque. Some original members disagreed saying they were just too many already (they weren't used to it) but the motto the more the merrier prevailed.
"Darkgaia reminisces the time the guild peaked a healthy attendance of 40+ during non-siege hours when the transcendant patch was introduced, with all of them going on a Minorous killing spree occupying Level 4 of Sphinx Dungeon like it was an agit." 2006 RPC was fast-approaching, and Master Diwa and Katsudon approached the White Knights and asked which side of the fence will Remarque be on. xCa|iv3r didn't respond right away, and instead called his knights of the round for a meeting. During that time, the main was really irritated (asar na asar was the word used) of Alliance because of some supposedly unkempt and rude remarks, bordering on trashtalks. It also didn't help Brotherhood the word war between Armada and Remarque.
After intense discussion of the guild, they all agreed to try and find out what it's like being on the other side since this will be their last RPC. Although they would like to clear out, to quote Darkgaia, "Walang kapalit na pole axe un." And rightly so because I don't think it would be of any use to them since no one was built for Spiral Pierce.
Finality scored against Blood Pact when Remarque joined them. As the sieges will prove, the White Crusaders are the main cavalry force, roaming Midgard and leading the frontline against the prized agits of Blood Pact, punching through the defenses and burning the economy to Finality's advantage. Aside from also giving multipliers to their banner guild, Remarque spoiled the multipliers for Coalescence in Britoniah or Luina on quite a number of occassions.
Who knew that not doing anything during siege is a way of defending the castle? Remarque ingeniously improved on the Emp Hug tactic and devised the AFK defense, where members put pubs near the Emperium to avoid it being clicked on by would-be breakers.
But alas the White Knights couldn't see the RPC through, as Donita and Ligaya proved too much of a distraction and disappointment. As like other players, the main batch heart for playing faltered as the game was being ruined drastically. Attendance dropped from more than 40 to less than 20.
xCa|iv3r felt the cries of his warriors, and decided they could no longer fake it. After countless breaks, determined pushes, and plain gang bang fun,
Remarque 1, which now has a meaning - excellence, rests.
